On Thursday, May 17 & Friday, May 18, 2012, Adroit Construction and Knife River will be crushing the large pile of broken concrete that sits where the old tennis courts used to be. This is a combination of materials from the tennis courts and roads that have been removed in the area.
Once crushed, the old concrete will be recycled into crushed rock and reused in the project. Staff will be using water to reduce dust in the area the work is being done. During these two days of work, there will be an increased level of noise in the area. Work will begin at 9am on Thursday, May 17 and 8am on Friday, May 18.
Recycling of the old concrete brings us closer to our goal of being a LEED Gold certified building and reduces waste that would otherwise go into a landfill.
