REMINDER: Stadium Street is Closed 7am-5pm Daily

A friendly reminder from our Vice President for Student Affairs, Jonathan Eldridge

This is a reminder that Stadium Street is CLOSED to traffic–including pedestrians–from 7a.m.-5p.m. daily. While it is tempting to use Stadium Street, it is dangerous to do so with the many trucks, deliveries, and construction equipment using it for the North Campus Village housing project.

If you have questions, please let me know. Thank you for your cooperation.
Best,
Jon

Construction Update 5/23/12

The North Campus Village contractors will be installing new sewer and storm drain piping at the north end of Stadium Street on Thursday May 24 and Friday May 25.  Access to the athletic fields from Stadium Street and parking in Lot 2 will be obstructed during those two days. There will be heavy truck and equipment traffic during work hours.

If possible, please use alternate routes when in the area.

The street and Parking Lot 2 will be repaired and back in service for the holiday weekend by late Friday afternoon (May 25).  Thank you for your patience.

Construction Update 5/15/2012

On Thursday, May 17 & Friday, May 18, 2012, Adroit Construction and Knife River will be crushing the large pile of broken concrete that sits where the old tennis courts used to be. This is a combination of materials from the tennis courts and roads that have been removed in the area.

Once crushed, the old concrete will be recycled into crushed rock and reused in the project. Staff will be using water to reduce dust in the area the work is being done. During these two days of work, there will be an increased level of noise in the area. Work will begin at 9am on Thursday, May 17 and 8am on Friday, May 18.

Recycling of the old concrete brings us closer to our goal of being a LEED Gold certified building and reduces waste that would otherwise go into a landfill.
